The accused was convicted on his plea of guilty on two counts under the Road Traffic Act (Chapter 13:11)‘the Act’ for driving without a driver’s licence and negligent driving in contravention of s6 (1) (a) and s52 (2) of the Act respectively. On the first count he was sentenced to pay a fine of $30 000.00 in default of payment 3 months imprisonment.
