The first applicant deposed to the founding affidavit. She is a Democratic Republic of Congo national who came to Zimbabwe with her parents sometime in 2012 when she was aged 8 years old. They stayed at Tongogara Refugee Camp. On 29 September 2021, first applicant’s mother went to the Registrar of Births and Deaths in an effort to register David’s birth.
