The accused was convicted on his own plea of guilty to physical abuse as defined in section 4 (1) as read with section 3 (1) (a) of the Domestic Violence Act, [Chapter 5:16]. The accused person, who was 28 years old, was arraigned before a Chivhu provincial magistrate on 13 August, 2010 facing four counts of unlawful entry into premises in contravention of s 131 (1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, [Cap 9:23].
