The accused person is 20 years old. He pleaded guilty to two counts of having sexual intercourse with his 15 year old girlfriend in contravention of s 70(1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Cap 9:23]. The accused was charged with murder of his grandmother, Vhareta Deza, who died on the 19th of September 2016. The fatal assault is said to have been committed by the accused when he was a juvenile. He did not have a birth certificate at the time. According to the probation officer’s report the accused was born in 2001. He dropped out of school due to his parent’s inability to pay fees.
