The accused is facing a charge of murder as defined in s 47 (1) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23]. The accused and deceased were husband and wife. In a domestic violence related matter the deceased lost her life due to physical abuse at the hands of her husband the accused.
