The accused is charged with murder as defined in section 47 (1) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23. He pleaded not guilty. The accused was charged with murder of his grandmother, Vhareta Deza, who died on the 19th of September 2016. The fatal assault is said to have been committed by the accused when he was a juvenile. He did not have a birth certificate at the time. According to the probation officer’s report the accused was born in 2001. He dropped out of school due to his parent’s inability to pay fees. He would therefore have been 15 at the time he committed the offence. He pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder. More
